If you a lover of good cuisine, Cape Point Vineyards has a famous restaurant known for its international menu and fine wine. Delicacies ranging from Bistro fare, Italian and modern are available. The kids are not left out as there is also a menu made especially for them.

An average meal would cost R200, and it’s advised that you make reservations in advance… the traffic can get quite busy. If you want a more intimate gathering, there is a semi-private dining room available that can accommodate up to 30 guests. For a more robust and hands-on experience of South African food, we recommend a Cape Town food tour

… We dropped by for lunch without reservation but were received with open arms. We sat outside, with a GORGEOUS view of the dam, hills and the ocean. The food was just amazing, as were the wines. I would recommend this place to everyone.” - Amber Brusewitz, Google Local Guide

"Great food and beautiful views. Picnics in the lawn are a great hit and one can enjoy the Thursday market too. Perfect for fine dining or a more relaxed picnic vibe" - Yolande Roberts, Google Local Guide

… we discovered the Cape Vineyards winery, the only winery within the Cape peninsula, and they say it gives the wine a special flavor as the vineyards get the air of the Atlantic Ocean and also because to the special soil of the region.

We tasted 5 wines, all white, 4 Sauvignon Blanc and 1 Chardonnay, at the cost of a mere R65, around R $ 18. This tasting is awesome. We are greeted by a guide who explains the history of the vineyard as well as its special features. Then he introduces us to the wines one at a time, always explaining a little about each label. Along with that, we tasted some oysters, served with lemon and other spices, surreal!” - @co.ordenada

Absolutely breathtaking views! We arrived for an impromptu wine tasting mid-afternoon and enjoyed a very informed wine tasting as well as a delicious cheese platter and oysters.” - Sarah Illingworth, Google Local Guide

Enjoy A Picnic With Your Loved Ones

Cape Point Vineyards is one of the best vineyard picnic experiences in and around Cape Town. You can enjoy a relaxing afternoon with fine wine and the cool breeze, surrounded by lush greenery. Picnic baskets and pillows are provided with umbrellas and you have a wide picnic menu to choose from.

There is the family picnic area, which is close to the jungle gym so the kids can play; the mid-level picnic lawns with an ocean/mountain view, these are perfect for social gatherings; there is also the picnic at the dam, this is perfect for couples and people that want privacy-- kids are not allowed here. Reservations have to be made at least 24 hours prior.

Another great place to enjoy your leisure - have your picnic at the top of Cape Town’s iconic Table mountain.

This is a great venue for picnics. Well, picnic being the optional word... This is more like an Alfresco lunch experience in style and with great views. The patrons here take care that you sit and launch comfortably and under the shade while sampling their carefully prepared nibbles out of your own picnic basket. Tables, pillows, blankets, umbrellas - all provided and prepared. Book in advance to choose from an extensive menu of delicacies and wine. Great for kids too with jungle gym and games available while kids remain in good view.”  - Rolf Herlig, Google Local Guide

Shop and Dine at the Thursday Market

The Cape Point Vineyards community market is a must-visit if you are in Cape Town on a Thursday. It is a weekly pop-up market that takes place at the function venue-- a lakeside setting overlooking the vineyard. It boasts of a plethora of street food, fine wine from the vine and a stunning view to keep you enthralled.

The market is open every Thursday from 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Host An Event

Do you smell love in the air? There is nothing more romantic than exchanging your vows and I do’s under an ancient tree encircled by the sea, mountains and a magnificent vineyard view. After which you can have a lovely reception on the lawn or the Balau deck where you can watch the sunset over the Atlantic.

Cape Point Vineyards is the perfect venue for your wedding. There is also a reception hall with ample space that can accommodate 100-200 guests. For as low as R30,000, you can get a hall with catering and bar handled on your behalf.

“Perfect venue to host a wedding with a balcony,  small dam and good views of the mountain. Excellent food. Very efficient service. Staff were all very friendly. Definitely worth another visit.” - Reg Jones, Google Local Guide
