Step 1: Choose Your Destination

Step 2: Select Your Experiences

A member of our team personally walks through each and every tour on tastemakersafrica.com - this means we know the experience is authentic and amazing. You can be sure that your "curator" - our name for experience hosts who've artfully designed something awesome for you - is an interesting local who is contributing to their community. If you see something you like, select "Book A Spot" to add the experience to your cart, you can book for more than one person and also add add additional experiences before check out. If you ever have a question about an experience, you can chat or email us directly.

Step 3: After You Book

Once you've added your experiences to the cart and have checked out with PayPal or a Credit/Debit card you'll receive a confirmation receipt which includes the time of your experience, meeting point, and ways to contact your curator if you have questions or need to make an update. You can also use our journal to plan the rest of your trip, from hotel and restaurant recommendations to upcoming events, you can find it all on tastemakersafrica.com

We're always on the lookout for amazing humans to join our community of curators. Hosting an experience on tastemakersafrica.com means joining a family. From events in the city you call home to a shared knowledge base of global opportunities, our curators are the heart of who we are and we invest in your success and fulfillment accordingly.

Here are the steps to becoming a Tastemaker in your city:

Step 1: Complete an application (15 - 60 min)

Tell us who you are and what you want to share with the world. Be specific and direct in outlining your experience. The goal of the application is to be YOU and provide as much detail as possible on the experience you'd like to host. Make sure you complete all sections of the applications before you submit it for review.

Step 2: Tastemakers Team Review (up to 72 hrs)

Our team will review your experience application. If it's a good fit we'll reach out to schedule a walkthrough by one of our experience scouts or community managers. This step ensures that every tastemakers experience is epic and that our host community is built based on shared principles and values.

Step 3: Your Experience Is Ready for Booking (up to 14 days)

Once your walk through is complete and we've collected all assets for your experience we will send you a confirmation that your experience is LIVE on tastemakersafrica.com. Here's an example of an experience booking page.

Step 4: Market and Encourage Reviews

Once you're experience is live, do everything you can to market it to potential guests. From FB to Instagram to Twitter to collaborating with hotels and hostels, the opportunity to grow your brand and business on Tastemakers is as big as you make it! Once you receive a booking, be sure to remind your guests that reviews matter - travelers look to reviews as a huge indication of how good your experience is, be sure to request them and show some love to those who take the time to give you feedback.
