I was very anxious about the trip prior to going due to a lack of expectations. It was very difficult to gauge what the daily activities would be, and who I'd be with, despite the Facebook group. I'd like to say, though, that as each day progressed, the trip was even more lovely. I had one of the best times I've ever had traveling, on this Zanzibar trip. I loved that five strong black women were together enjoying themselves. I loved that we turned heads. We felt so empowered. Each day was filled with activities. Sometimes we couldn't handle all of the activities, and wanted a day just to rest. Our tour leader was very flexible. She made our trip outstanding. She was open, engaged and interested in making everyone's needs a reality. There was a group member that was a bit difficult to deal with, and she handled her needs with grace. I would recommend her for future trips. She's amazing!! In terms of the trip itself, most activities were up our alley, exciting and enjoyable. I loved the fishing trip, the dinner cruise, the beach day, the tours, the spa day, ZIFF, the Full Moon Party- pretty much everything!! I loved the exposure to culture the most. The people we met and the opportunities to learn about this growing African community were irreplaceable. I think my only suggestion would be to have gotten a higher quality cooking class experience. Although I ate the food and it was great and I didn't get sick, the kitchen didn't practice the best sanitary standards. I would have loved to have a full beach day, and to have stayed someplace close to limit long travels after a full day of activities. At times we traveled over an hour, late in the evening, to get to our hotel. Otherwise I enjoyed myself immensely! I created the best memories, captured the best photos and made amazing new friends in the process. Thank you!
